1) Lake Metroparks Farmpark🐄

A fun, hands-on experience where kids can interact with animals, ride a pony, and learn about farming! 

Farmpark features dairy cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, horses, alpacas, and goats, a plant science center, farm machinery exhibits, playground and more. Horse or tractor-drawn wagons provide visitors rides to all destinations throughout the park. Wagons are handicap accessible.


There are seasonal activities like Maple Surgaring Weekends, Horsefest, and the Country Lights Drive-Thru as well as many other events throughout the year.

2) Headlands Beach State Park🏖️

The largest natural sand beach in Ohio perfect for swimming, picnicking, and building sandcastles. 

Sunbathers and swimmers alike frequent this 35-acre state park beach in the warm months and can enjoy plenty of personal space.

If getting your feet wet and searching for beach glass is your cup of tea, keep a careful eye on the ground — Headlands is one of the best beaches in Ohio to spot the sparkles of these Lake Erie gems.

Pack a picnic for lunch before taking a walk along the Buckeye Trail, which winds through this Ohio state park. Birders can spot hundreds of species during migration season in the adjacent Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve.

Kayak rentals are offered seasonally including single and doubles.
