The Fairport Harbor Arts & Culture Alliance has announced the second event of the fourth annual Live @ The Lighthouse Concert series will be July 13 with Reggae in the Harbor at the Lighthouse amphitheater.

“Reggae in the Harbor continues to increase in size year over year,” Live @ The Lighthouse co-chair Michael Schaffert stated in a news release. “Being directly next to the beach and transient marina, this show continues to thrill and jives perfectly with the environment that surrounds the stage.

“With a lighthouse in the foreground and background, Lake Erie’s best beach to the east, and sunsets that are incomparable, you
can’t ask for a better venue.”

Reggae in the Harbor music will start with 12 O’Clock Tribe from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by Lake Irie from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Rockstead from 4 to 5 p.m., Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and concluding with Mighty Mystic from 8 to 10 p.m.

Land of Panda, a psych funk and reggae band from Akron, will be the “House Band’” performing before and after Carlos Jones, the release stated.

Like Land of Panda, the 12 O’Clock Tribe hail from Akron performing reggae, fusion and rock. Lake Irie, from Cleveland, will perform original reggae music with fresh new songs in their line-up.

Rockstead will travel from their home in Cincinnati to perform new rock and reggae sounds.

“Organizers are honored to have reggae royalty in the house as Carlos Jones and the PLUS band head into The Port once again,” the release stated. “With a focus on bringing a positive message with his reggae music, Carlos continues to have a diverse group of new fans and devoted followers.”

Making their debut on the beach front stage, Mighty Mystic will travel from Boston to deliver their “hard roots” sound with high energy, message-driven reggae blended with hip hop and rock.

Food Trucks for the day will include Rabbit Food, Smooth Rider, Cheese Dave’s, Off the GRIDdle, CLE Chicken, Pasta Tivo and You Enjoy My Donuts, according to the release.

The third concert event will be Jam by the Sand on Aug. 3, and the concert season concludes Sept. 1 with Fairport Harbor’s Harboritaville as a salute to the legendary Jimmy Buffett.

Leading up to the concerts, attendees can visit the local shops, eateries and the Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park as all of the events and locations are within walking distance of the amphitheater and park. A Fairport Harbor Visitors map is available at fhaca.org or pick up one at a local Fairport business.

Concerts will be held rain or shine, the release stated. Check the Live @ The Lighthouse Facebook page or the fhaca.org for event updates as bands and times are subject to change and other announcements including additional, smaller and more intimate, one band concerts in the village.
