Before we welcome pumpkin spice and everything nice, we want to soak up the remaining sunshine Northeast Ohio has to offer! Come Tour Lake County with us before autumn makes her grand appearance and spend the day at Ohio’s Longest Natural Sand Beach, book an overnight in a scenic cabin, or sample your way through the Grand River Valley, Ohio’s Wine Country!

1) Eat outdoors on a local patio or deck!

There’s still time to soak up the sun in Northeast Ohio! Summer may be coming to an unofficial end, but that doesn’t mean patio season is ending to! Check out this quick list of places to eat outside in Lake County, OH here.

2) Visit a Farmer’s Market for the freshest produce and local finds!

3) Put your toes in the sand at Ohio’s Longest Natural Sand Beach for an unforgettable Lake Erie Sunset!

Besides providing exceptional sunbathing and swimming opportunities, the 35 acre Headlands Beach also offers unique beach glass hunting and phenomenal Lake Erie sunset viewing. Picnicking is available throughout the park and a paved hike/bike trail that runs along the park’s back dunes provides excellent views of the beach and lake.

4) Go for a “car-ride” with your pup to one of our Pet-Friendly Wineries!

Lake County, OH has a variety of destinations for you and your bestie to enjoy, no matter what lifestyle you lead! Relax on one of our pet-friendly outdoor patios at a local winery or distillery! Ohio’s largest estate winery, Debonne Vineyards, hosts Woof Wednesdays through September 4th from 5- 8 PM. 7) Get aboard the Pollinator Express before it leaves the station!

Be inspired by an imaginative world of miniature trains and larger-than-life botanical sculptures at Holden Arboretum. The exhibit features G-scale model trains chugging through a landscape of iconic sculptures that depict unique plants from around the globe, paired with the insects and animals they depend on for pollination. 8) Enjoy live music outdoors on a patio, park, or at a winery!

There’s still time to enjoy the sounds of summer throughout Lake County. Find live music in places like Mentor, Painesville, Willoughby, and our favorite, Madison, OH wineries. 10) Lace up your sneakers for a walk along the newest Lake Erie Lakefront Trail!

The newest lakefront trail along Lake Erie is now open at Lake Metroparks Painesville Township Park. This ADA-accessible ten-foot wide trail is just the first phase of plans to eventually connect Painesville Township Park to Fairport Harbor along the Lake Erie shore.
