Raise Your Glasses and Paws

June is Ohio Wine Month and there is no better way to celebrate than with your dog! Three area wineries from the Grand River Valley Wine Region have put together a unique trail for the dog and wine loving community. Grand River Cellars Winery & Restaurant, Debonné Vineyards, and Cask 307 Winery will host a food and wine tasting trail that your dog is invited to attend. These wineries are dog friendly with outside seating areas.

New this year, the trail will support four wonderful, local rescues.

The trail takes place during the entire month of June from Noon-6:00p.m. Participants travel to each location all in one day or spread it out all month long. The cost is $35 per person and includes a small plate paired with two wines and of course a special treat for your pup! Participants will also receive a logoed bandana for the pup. Fun, dog themed specialty drinks are part of this trail, with a portion of the sales going to the rescues. Please note, the wineries adhere to current health codes and dogs are not permitted inside. There will be outside seating available, so please plan for the weather.

While the trail is designed for you and your pup to enjoy together, for the safety of everyone, only well- behaved dogs will be permitted on the participating properties. If you decide to leave your dog at home, you will still receive treats and a bandana to take home.

“We love having this trail all month long.” says Cindy Lindberg, President of Grand River Cellars, and event coordinator. “This allows more time for participants to get to the wineries with their pups, relax on our patios, and sip a little wine on a weekend or a weekday when it’s a little less hectic. People love to travel with their dogs and this event gives them a great reason to do so.” All participants will also receive a discount coupon to Ruff Life on the Lake-the area’s only dog-friendly restaurant that has a special area inside and outside for dining with your dog.

Each rescue will receive a portion of the ticket price with different weeks benefiting different rescues. Tickets are purchased in advance. Donations are based upon attendance to the winery that week.
