It’s the season for hopping down the bunny trail — even better when it’s a wine trail to be followed amid the burgeoning blooms of an early spring.

A quartet of nearby wineries, a distillery and a tavern are collaborating on the monthlong Bunny Hop Trail, providing two wine samples with a mini cocktail at extra cost. They’ll be served to visitors from noon to 5 p.m. seven days a week from April 9 through 30, along with a spring-themed appetizer or dessert.

You pay $8 at each location.

Those who complete the Trail will be entered in a drawing for an overnight getaway in the Grand River Valley wine region. Trail cards may be picked up at each of the locations.

Participating will be Grand River Cellars, Debonné Vineyards, Cask 307, South River Vineyard, Red Eagle Distillery and Black Door Tavern, all of which are just a few minutes’ drive from each other in Madison and western Ashtabula County communities.

“Cocktails, including some made with wine, will be available for purchase along the Bunny Hop Trail”, said Loretta Todd from Debonné. “All will be light and fruity.”

Here’s what tastes await discovery on the Bunny Hop Trail and where to find them.
